Wow! I can't believe it's been a month since my last post! I've been very busy and was away from my home studio for awhile, which actually didn't slow down my production...it went way up! I was fortunate to be invited to Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center in Solomons, MD for a week to create onsite as part of their Artists in Action program.

While there, I was able to set up a temporary studio in a very spacious area facing floor to ceiling windows looking out on the gardens. Oh, my was it beautiful. I was there every day from 10-5 for 7 days in a row and let me tell you I was able to accomplish a ton. I painted 5 12"x12" paintings for an upcoming show I'll tell you about later, finished two pieces I had started before going there, prepped and started three more paintings, and met 3 other artists whom I now consider friends.

It was a really great week, and Friday evening the arts center held an Opening for their current exhibit "Wild Muse: Animals in Art" with lots of people, great art, food trucks, a cash wine bar and plenty of schmoozing. So much fun!

If you've never been to Solomons, MD I highly recommend it. It's located on the Patuxent River about an hour and a half from Washington DC. So laid back, and chill...not a touristy vibe at all, but great TIKI bar, plenty of fresh seafood restaurants and beautiful sunsets. I miss it already.

I've been very busy since my return home as well. I'm participating in the Palettes of Keuka event again this year and have finished my enormous palette and will deliver it tomorrow to the Chamber of Commerce in Hammondsport, NY. It's a yearly community art event in which the Chamber invites local artists to design and paint an over-sized artist palette to be displayed around town over the summer and then at the end of summer the palettes are auctioned off. Last year was my first year and I really enjoyed participating so I was happy to do so again this year. Each year my palettes are vintage travel poster inspired and feature an aspect of life around the area of Keuka Lake, located in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. I'll post images of my palette in a later blog post.

As I said, busy times in my studio at home and away these days. I'll be back sooner than a month this time with more news, until next time...
