Boy, have I been busy lately! Not only did I have two commissions in February, and collaboration with McGregor Winery (which I will reveal at a later date) but I've been preparing for an upcoming show "Spring Spotlight Exhibit" at West End Gallery in Corning, NY. This is the show where my art is featured along with three other amazing artists, and I have a chance to be showcased. So, I've been working really hard to develop a new body of work and will have approximately 17 paintings to deliver this Friday! I'll be releasing the finished images each day on Instagram and am really excited to share them with you. I'll also be blogging about each painting individually with insights into its origin story and in progress pics to give you a more in depth look into each work. Here's a sneak peek at one of the pieces from this series titled, "Synergy". I chose this title because as I created my abstract backgrounds I began to think of the as environments for my animals. Each became part of each other. The background, or environment, became a part of the animal and the animal became part of the environment. It is true. We are all a part of the environment and it is a part of each of us, and animals are a part of being the "us". This painting of a moose is most likely my favorite painting I've ever created. Everything worked together and I think it's the mascot of "Synergy". I will post more about him with his origin story soon.
